POS Systems for Restaurants and Fast Food Chains
There are a lot of products which can be used in the restaurant or food franchising industry and one of them is through the use of the POS systems or Point of Sale systems. The Point of Sale system is considered as one of the most effective means of trading in restaurants and fast food chains because it not only increases the efficiency of waiters but would also decrease fraudulent activities among the employees. A feature of the POS systems when it comes to the food franchising industry is on taking orders from customers. Traditional trading consists of the use of a pen and an order list wherein the waitresses or waiters would take orders through listing the food ordered and then passing it through the cashier.
The use of order forms is an obsolete way in taking in orders since the cashier would still need to encode the orders to a cash register. If there would be a lot of customers involved, then listing the orders would take a lot of time. Customers who are busy would not wait for their turn since they would most likely have a busy schedule. The use of customer slips is also expensive since order slips would need to be printed and ordered from a printing shop regularly. In order to increase sales while at the same time connect the waiter with the cashier and the kitchen crew, a POS systems can be utilized. The waiter would use a Palm Pad in order to take orders from customers and the items would automatically be sent to the cashier and the kitchen crew.
By the time the cashier prints the receipt, the kitchen crew would already be cooking the food which would be served to the customer. The waiter would also have a lot more time to take orders from other customers since he would not need to submit the order forms anymore. Cashiers would also be truthful in their sales since the POS systems can be connected to a database system which is encrypted. The sales for each day would then be calculated by the machine and would be presented to the owner of the restaurant or establishment.
