How to Prepare for Bank PO Exams
The Public and Private Sector banks are offering many Bank jobs in India to recruit Considerably In the next Three years as new branches of various banks are to be opened and lots of employees will retire in the next 2 years creating many more Bank jobs.
Bank exams, be it for clerical or Bank PO, are not as difficult as people might think them to be. But the problem is the vacancies to number of applicants' ratio, which is normally very low. So matter of worry and emphasis is about your preparation and time management and not the toughness of the exam.
Though the exact pattern of the examination is described in manual of application in the application form issued by bank. For now, we will consider the standard pattern for A PO exam that has a total of 225 questions with 135 minutes time i.e., 2 hrs and 15 minutes. That accounts for 36 seconds per question. Sounds cheap!
But that's not all as we are not going to attempt each and every question. Remember that the minimum cut-off marks for each section that should be crossed are normally 40%. If a candidate attempts around 180 with good precise answers then he's done a pretty good job! More than 190 are excellent.
Those who have taken a few bank exams in the past should follow the strategy that they are accustomed of, but if someone takes a bank exam for the first time then he/she should start off with General awareness/General knowledge as this part does not take much time if prepared efficiently. As candidate doesn't have to think a lot over any question it's just a matter of reading and ticking the answer if he knows about it. This part should be finished within 10-15minutes time. That's a good start!
The next section to attempt would be of General English and in it the first 9-10 questions will be of comprehensive passages that take a lot of time to read and understand. So That part is recommend to be left as the rest of the section is pretty easy and Basic English. Again this part should be completed within 20-25 minutes. Till now we have done 2 sections within 40-50 minutes and two more are left with another 135 questions to be done in 85-95 minutes.
Choice among the next two sections, Reasoning and Quantitative ability should be made Depending upon your strength and practice. Go for any of them but do remember to solve the easier questions first as it will save time and will be the deciding factor. For Example the DI part in Quant Is an important and easy part and which will be the scoring and deciding factor. Most of the question in DI can be solved without even using the pen. So prepare well for DI and Attempt it first.
Any thing that requires long calculation in Quant or serious thinking in Reasoning should be left and come back to it if time remains in the end. Questions on compound interest calculations in Quant and circular arrangement in Reasoning could be avoided at first and may be attempted at last if the time Permits.
So time is the most important resource and should be managed well to get an edge over the other candidates and ensure a place there in the Selected Candidates.

Pos Register what are some hints for working POS at kohls?
i just started and i am going to be training on the register...i was just wondering if anyone had any hints or tips?...i normally work the shoe department so i'll just be backup POS but any tips would be appreciated!
Just remember this..the customer is and always will be right, don't ever argue with the customer and Christmas time is the busiest time of year, try to be speedy but make sure not to make any huge mistakes at the same time and make sure to always give currect change, it sucks when your till is off!

How a POS Should Function
The POS or the Point of Sale has been in use for a number of years now. Owing to their ability to be interconnected, these POS machines have revolutionized the retail industry, allowing for a number of transactions that could not have been possible without the POS or even high speed machine to machine telecommunication.
Transactions like auto debit/credit purchases that you sometimes make on POS machines when you buy something at a store could not have been possible without high speed communications between your bank and the store where you made the purchase. It is the machine to machine communications that make it possible for any company to access a record on another company database, insert a purchase record there and have your bank system automatically reflect that purchase when you access it.
After these machine to machine telecommunications are now being used by most POS now, the focus of these POS machines then changed so that these POS machines are easier to use. Before POS machines were in great use, the cash registers were being used in greater quantity throughout the world -from mechanical to electrical to electronic.
The only problem to all of these cash registers is the complexity of their functions. The earliest mechanical cash registers used a keystroke and a lever to make it work, while the electrical versions only succeeded in automating the cash register by replacing the pull lever with an electric motor.
The electronic cash register, although looking like nothing that came before it, also suffered from the complexity syndrome, especially if it has a lot of features packed into it. Sure, it was fast and efficient and smaller than either mechanical or electrical versions. But being a cash register, there are certain things that you must do in order to use it properly, and training in the use of electronic cash registers usually took its time before you are familiar to its features.
With POS, the change from buttons denoting the function to a visual icon indicating its use made it easier for store clerks to retain the training that they had to use the POS systems. You have to remember that most POS systems being used today are just one rather large screen where you touch a particular area of the screen where you see an icon for a particular function that you want to use.
This technology is called a ‘touch screen'. Quite literally, you touch the screen where you see the icon of the function that you want to use. In order to have touch screen functionality, the LCD screen itself has to be a touch screen and the POS machine supports that type of LCD screen and a touch screen based POS software as opposed to just a regular POS software where you use the keyboard or a mouse to navigate the screen.
The beauty of the touch point of sale is its simplicity. You may have watched some old sci-fi movies years ago when touch screen was not even invented yet. We have marvelled at these movies for displaying and using the touch screen in the scenes involving display screens.
The ability to directly point to a function and activate it using just your finger is simplicity itself. This means that a transaction is done faster using a Touch Point of Sale than it would be using a regular POS.

Hi everyone, i have a problem, I bought a new system for my self powered by AMD Athlong 64 X2 processor (Which is dual core) I alredy have normal windows XP 32bit edition with me, but this 64bit thing doubts me, should i get windows XP 64bit or X86 version to get full performance of my system?

X64 computing is designed to make use of greater amounts of RAM--but there's a catch: You must be using a 64-bit program and have greater than 4GB of RAM to see any benifit.
